I am TOTALLY with those of you who are feeling a bit aroused by the Cler. Can’t explain it… and don’t think I even wanna try. Exept to offer up a few more confessions… of the “Early Show” kind: First of all THANK YOU Cella for pointing out that link. I experienced a bit of Clertus Interuptus this morning when I discovered the download that Nelle linked was no longer available. My fault Nelle… I just wasn’t quick enough. OK, so this is where the confession part comes in… My ex-husband, who is a singer/actor/comedian, has been known to incorporate “drag” bits into his show from time to time. The interesting thing aka turn on about it comes from knowing how mega-STRAIGHT he is and how SECURE he is and yet able to embody a female in a totally convincing way. God, I hope that doesn’t sound completely freaky! I think that those of you who know me know that he is legit… and somewhat normal. I love a man who can be amused rather than threatened by the feminine aspects of himself. I’m only saying this for some of you who may have been weirded out by the sight of Clay in a form-fitting gown. My first thought upon seeing it was… would he, or his mother, willingly allow this to air if they were the least bit insecure about his sexual orientation? I don’t think so. And yea, it made me wanna put my hands on them real bad… and on her a** too. Needless to say I LOVED the “Early Show” clip…all of it… and ALSO the MP recap Nelle. Thank you for immortalizing it with your ever-amusing perspective! And ditto for Kat and Melissa! I think that some of my favorite Clay moments EVER happened on Wednesday night. But so very painful at the time, huh? MGM Pat: Gulp… That picture in the guestbook!… Gulp again. What IS that? Whatever it is… it skeers me. Paula in the Loo: So glad I’m not the only one who noticed it. My mic theory is that it just took a while for him to get comfortable with “the heat.” And now he’s figured out that heat can be a good thing… Shieldmaiden: The mowing must be done… no way around it. You see, my yard is extremely demanding… and tonight it was very wet which made things really hard. But thanks for that thought, and I will definitely use “your word” when compiling my TO DO list from now on. I am loving and hating (all at the same time) this ticket “foreplay.” But these are still good times, aren’t they? What a grand summer this is going to be… I can FEEL it! He is so good at spoiling us!… and giving us everything we could imagine. I mean he just barely finished the last one and now he’s ready to do it again. But this time he’s gonna do it ALONE! It's effing late and I am waaaaay behind on the PPs.... but I just dropped by to lay this little morsel on you - well two morsels actually... First of all - morsel #1 - Calling All MotherS!! I just got around to reading the EW article on Prince (4/23/04 - he's on the cover) AND... in the interview he has this to say about covers of his songs: ....."No! I don't like anyone covering my work. Write your own tunes!" He says he got up in R&B singer Ginuwine's face for bungling the lyrics in a 1996 version of "When Dove Cry." "I was just busting on him to bust him, but I was a little serious. Have some respect man. If anyone tried to cover 'Respect.' by Aretha? I would shoot them myself. It's making me wonder: 1. If Clay was justified in wondering if Prince fans in MN would be UP SET about him doing WDC. 2. If Clay asked and got permission from Prince about performing the song. 3. If Prince has seen Clay's version. 4. What he thinks about it. 5. If Clay knows what he thinks about it. So many questions!! Hi to all of you I met a few of you at Winston salem. Introduced myself to one of you at the clayvention too while on my 3000mile clayvacation roadtrip I took all by my lonesome this spring. Oh what we are compelled to do for CLay. 5 concerts and a clayvention later I fell into my bed and slept for 20 hrs. LOL. anyways commenting about the cbs early show. I’m going to buy the CD tomorrow (am also going to buy another SWAY, don’t ask me why. I just read that it’s dropped in sales and like my one is going to make a difference, I’m buying it - again! I know, I’m sick. Any way, back to WY. I remember Clay saying in an interview, “I’ve just finished recording my part. Kim will go into the studio [sometime later] to do hers.” I know they do this all the time now, one artist recording their part in London in May and another recording their part in New York in June, etc. I think the music suffers. That’s why I think we like the Clianna better. Clay really loves interacting with other performers. And they had 29 shows singing it, so I’m sure they really got comfortable with it. Who wouldn’t prefer singing with your partner over singing with a recorded track? Why the heck they couldn’t just get them (Clim) in the same studio so they could “play” with the song and find their niche together is beyond me! I’m sure it would have produced better music. Oh, I forgot. *snaps fingers* TPTB aren’t really interested in music. Duh! It was probably cheaper this way. Anyway, that’s why I personally don’t feel it’s fair to compare the live concert duet to the recorded duet. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Anyone have any ideas why the message from Clay won’t play for me! It says “this channel doesn’t stream”. ??? Can someone convert it to another format? Gini! What a wonderful experience! Hello! I have been a lurker since being informed about your sight last year by Clay himself during an interview on a Charlotte, NC radio station. Though I have never posted, I feel like I know all of you since I read some of my own thoughts in some of your posts! I really enjoy all of the MP's and count on you to keep me up to date on Clay. I have seen Clay in Charlotte 3 times in the past year and am thrilled that he will be in my home state in July- Greenville on the 17th and Charleston on the 18th.
